Settings recipes for common situations

Practical combinations of existing settings worth setting up in advance, for situations that come up repeatedly.

Last fact-checked: . General guidance — always check your own model's specifics and current official sources before relying on it for a decision.

Winter setup

Getting ready for cold mornings

Schedule departure time with preconditioning enabled so the cabin and battery warm while still plugged in, turn on steering wheel and seat heating as a default rather than the cabin heater alone to save range (see our range by season guide), and check tyre pressures are set for cold weather rather than left at a summer reading.

Camping setup

Setting up for an overnight stay in the car

Camp mode maintains cabin temperature and keeps essential systems running while parked overnight, using the main battery rather than needing an external power source — but it does draw down charge over a full night, so start with a healthy charge level and check the estimated overnight consumption shown on screen before relying on it in very cold or hot conditions.

Kids & pets

Setting up for kids or a pet left briefly in the car

Dog Mode keeps the climate control running and displays the cabin temperature on the exterior screen for passersby when a pet is left briefly, while Sentry Mode can run alongside it for security. For children, cabin overheat protection (keeping minimal climate control running even with the car off) is worth confirming is enabled in settings, and child lock settings for rear doors and windows are worth checking before a trip if not already familiar with them.
